The ability to recognize how your body reacts to the stresses in your life can be a powerful skill. Most people are more aware of the weather, the time of day, or their bank balance, than they are of the tension in their own bodies, or their personal stress response. Your body registers stress long before the conscious mind does. Muscle tension is your body’s way of letting you know that you are under stress; and body awareness is the first step toward acknowledging and reducing stress.
You inevitably tense your body when you experience stress. When the stress is removed, the tension will go away. This chronic muscle tension restricts digestion, limits self expression and decreases energy. I can just hear you saying "Well I don't feel tense". Much of the tension in your body isn't felt because most of your awareness is constantly directed toward the outside world. You must be willing to EXPLORE your inner world to release the cause of the busy mind / tense body syndrome which effects your game.
Even the most subtle tension in the body can make the difference between a win or a loss, you best or sub-par.
We will teach you practical strategies you can use to increase your awareness and take control of your game. In the middle of a stressful play you can be alert, clear headed, and dynamic.
Clients learn a number of stress-diminishing practices which, together, restore health. Among these are body awareness, breathing techniques, relaxation techniques, self-hypnosis, intentional control of body functions (bio-feedback), visualizations, goal setting, emotional self-management and techniques to release limiting beliefs.
